Modern capital of Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek (formerly Pishpek, Frunze) - one of the largest cities in Central Asia, the main city in the country, its capital. Caravanserai on the Silk Road has evolved into an outpost of the Kokand khanate called Pishpek, that at the beginning of the XX century was renamed into Frunze (in honor of the famous Soviet general). Nowadays, the city is called Bishkek (on behalf of the hero of Kyrgyz epic Bishkek-batyr). Bishkek, the largest city in the country, disposes an international airport "Manas", three train stations and a variety of hotels and shopping malls, as well as many wonderful parks. It harmoniously combines old Soviet buildings and new high-rise constructions of modern building materials. The city is literally flourishes and develops, attracting many tourists from all over the world.

City at the foothills of Tien Shan

Bishkek is located in Chu Valley, at the foothills of Tien Shan mountains, at the northern foot of the majestic and alluring snowy ridge of the Kyrgyz Ala-Too, at the altitude 750 meters above sea level. Its unique landscape, the proximity of the mountain lakes, gorges and rivers turned the city into a staging center for those who are going to a ski resort or hiking. Bishkek streets has been constructed as "breathing" - able to pass the air from the mountains and well ventilated, that's why the air in this rather big city is cleaner than in other cities of this size.

Center of Kyrgyz culture

Bishkek - is the center of national culture of Kyrgyzstan. Tourists are mostly interested with State Historical Museum, which exhibits the history of Kyrgyzstan since primitive times to the present day, Museum of Fine Arts, Museum. of M. V. Frunze, Opera and Ballet Theatre, City Drama Theatre, and others.
